Another Drawspace in Oil Pastels

I decided to do this drawing in oil pastels. The only thing I don't like about these pastels is it is difficult to get a sharp, clean edge and I am such a detail person. Otherwise, I really enjoy using them.

Another Oil Pastel

I liked this piece as an acrylic and decided to try it again as an oil pastel. I really like working with the oil pastels, possibly even as much as I like chalk pastels.

Oil Pastel

Oh my gosh, oh my gosh. . . ..
I am so excited. I have never really played around much with my oil pastels - I think I always felt like they are too much like crayons. But today, a fellow artist on Drawspace asked if one of my drawings was an oil pastel (it was actually a chalk pastel) so I decided to go upstairs and dig out my box of oil pastels and try something. And I LOVED IT!!!! I really like the way they look, the way they blend, everything! Now I can't wait to start something else with them.

Although I haven't had much time to just draw for myself, I have started a couple of drawings while subbing for the other two art teachers; one in charcoal, and this one in chalk pastels.
